This one of the most important subsections of phytotherapy and unfortunately also one of the least known of by the general public. The essence of this method is the medicinal application of germinal plant tissues, i.e. buds, rootlets and seeds. These germinal tissues contain the entire strength of the future plant - they are the future of the plant. Extracts prepared from these tissues contain substances needed by the body - trace elements, vitamins, growth hormones, and enzymes - in other words substances, which are either not present in the adult plant or present in much lower quantities.

Gemmotherapy uses tinctures (extracts from plant buds and herbs) to treat various disorders. Plants deposit their most valuable substances into their buds (Latin: "gemmon"), since they enable the survival and future of the plant. The plant bud extracts therefore contain exceedingly valuable substances not present in other parts of the plant. These are various hormones, enzymes, minerals, trace elements, and vitamins etc., which are almost always insufficiently present in the human body.

Plant bud and herbal extracts have a wide range of effects:

• They improve the function of the central nervous system
• They have a general strengthening and rejuvenating effect on the organism
• They act against specific disorders
• They can be used to prevent disorders from occurring or re-occurring

The plant bud and herbal extracts therapy is exceedingly gentle and effective; it does not harm the human body, has no side effects and leaves no "waste-substances" inside the body. It has been successfully used to treat specific human disorders and as a preventive application for healthy people. Gemmotherapy brings about remarkable results, even when used to treat otherwise difficult and tedious diseases like borrelia and various blood and nervous diseases. It is beginning to prove itself as a modern therapy of the third millennium.
